Gods Unchained is a F2P trading card game where players compete in epic duels using fantasy cards. The game focuses on competitive play, which means players must strategically outsmart their opponents by building decks that are able to combat a wide variety of tactics.
Year of release: 2019
Once opened, the game leads the player to the Arena, where they compete in battles. Here, they are given the option to play solo (i.e. against the computer) and ranked (against other players).
From here, players can go to the deck selection, where they can either use the starter decks (I don’t recommend this), create their own deck, or import an existing deck by entering a deck code.
Each deck consists of 30 cards, which are defined by their cost measured in Mana (top left number), the attack strength (bottom left number), and health/durability (bottom right number). Ideally, you want to have low cost-high attack/health cards in your deck because then you can use more cards during the battle and increase your chance of winning. You can also view your deck through the Workshop, where you can edit your decks and create new ones.
There are 6 Gods whose cards you can play with: Nature, Light, Death, War, Magic, and Deception. You can only play one God at a time.
You can also go to the Market which would link you to either an external marketplace (outside the game) or to the Star Store (what you see below).
Here, you can purchase some cards using the Stars, that you earn from playing Ranked battles.
Next is Collections. Here, you can review all cards and get a better understanding of what they do. You can filter them by all stats. In this example, they’re filtered so that only Death God owned cards appear on the page. This helps with the deck selection, as you can compare the cards of different Gods and pick the one with the strongest cards. Note that you get a pack of cards whenever you win a battle or level up. There’s a chance of pulling Rare or even Legendary cards, so you should regularly update your deck as you get new cards. Later, as your cards accumulate and you get a few of the same ones, you can also Fuse them in Forge (we’ll get to this in a bit)!
Now, you have the Forge! Here, you can fuse five Plain cards to Meteorite for the Core set. And then, five Meteorite cards will create one Shadow, five Shadow cards will create one Gold, and five Gold cards will create one Diamond card. Having a Meteorite or higher gives you an ability to sell these cards on a marketplace.
Open packs section is where you, guess what - open packs! As I mentioned earlier, you can pull Rare or Legendary cards. They will have a coloured outline so you’ll notice it.
The Learn section is basically just links to all cards, FAQ, lore, blog, guide, and referrals. The buy packs section sends you to a browser marketplace where you can purchase packs from other players.
At the start of each battle you get to choose your Godpower out of three options. Then you get to tweak your first hand of cards by replacing any of them, although maximum four times. Then, if you start second, you get three extra Manas (grey gems in the bottom right) that you can use one at a time if you lack Mana. If you start first, you only get one gem.
